Mirror Travel

I guess today is local day.  This band's first album came out yesterday and they played their CD release party at Hotel Vegas.  Formerly Follow that Bird, it's the same members but new name and new label.  Indie garage pop.  They're out on tour now so we'll have to keep our eye out for another local show.

These guys were on KUTX yesterday.  I'd never heard them before.  Austin band that plays indie dream pop.  Only 2 EPs out so far.  Pretty good.  They're at CMJ this week and don't have any upcoming shows in town until November 30th.  I'd like to check them out.  Hopefully not a 1am show.

Edit: looks like they released their first album yesterday. So now 2 EPs and an LP.

ACL 2013 Sat. 7pm Kendrick Lamar

Some of the reviews for weekend 1 are coming in so I'll try and cover some bands I haven't posted yet.  This show was mentioned as a highlight.  The crowd is going to be very young and it's at the Honda stage which apparently was a poor decision.  Sounds like it was like the MGMT crowd there a few years ago.

If it's not crazy we may want to check some of this out.  I doubt I'll ever go see him so this could be our one chance to check it out.  We've seen Bright Light Social Hour and the Mavericks a few times.  Maybe catch a little Shouting Matches, then head over to Honda before moving up front for the Cure.
