Whispertown is the moniker of Morgan Nagler, who also plays in the band Whispertown 2000. I guess she drops the 2000 when she's solo. She's from L.A. and hangs with the cool kids. Friends Jenny Lewis and Blake Sennett of Rilo Kiley convinced her to become a musician. Based on this song it was a good decision. Her voice reminds me of Jessica Lea Mayfield if she decided to go pop. She's signed to Gillian Welch and her partner David Rawlings' label. He produced the latest album, too. Good credentials.
The showcase is at 11pm on Saturday at St. David's as part of the Hotel Cafe's songwriter showcase. No day parties scheduled. WTH?
