Saturday at 3:10pm on the BMI stage. Five bands on at this time. Say She She is playing at this time. We saw them open for Black Pumas at the ACL Moody Theater. They didn't do much for me. The other act is Balthvs who we saw at Parish during SXSW. Preview here. I liked them. They're playing the Tito's tent. Right now they are my first choice.
According to this article:
The Telescreens are an alternative rock band originally from Los Angeles but currently based out of New York. Jackson Hamm formed the group with three friends during their sophomore and junior years of high school in LA. The band’s music emulated folk rock and showcased Hamm’s strong songwriting and guitar skills.
During his Hamm’s freshman year at the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at NYU, he met Alex Bean.
Now, according to this bio:
Telescreens are a four-piece rock band from New York City. Austin Brenner, Josiah Valerius, Oliver Graf, Jackson Hamm. They formed initially in late 2016, Brenner, Valerius, and Hamm wrote and recorded their first album "The Return." In 2019 they found Graf and immediately started playing live in and around New York City.
Rock. Going for the Strokes sound, especially on "Phone Booth".
"Lost" has a cameo from Juliette Lewis. Pretty cool.
They've released two singles recently. I guess they're prepping for a new album. "Vertigo" is one of them. It reminds me of Alt-J if they rocked.
This is a slow-burner. A different sound. I like it.
