SXSW 2023: Hermanos Gutiérrez

The announcements are picking up so I'm getting a little anxious. So much to cover. There are a few bands that are popping up at multiple big parties so I'll try to preview them all.

These brothers are playing the Saloon stage at Luck Reunion after Sadurn, The Golden Dregs, and Rattlesnake Milk.  I'll let NPR describe them:

Hermanos Gutiérrez's origin story is as intricate as the guitar playing styles of its two members. The brothers have roots in both Switzerland and Ecuador, and the time spent in those two very distinct cultures and geographies gives their sound a tempered European coolness, coupled with a warm, playful energy.

They were born in Ecuador and raised in Switzerland.  Here is their Tiny Desk Concert.  In it they mention working with Dan Auerbach.  They are signed to Easy Eye Sound Records (Yola, Dan Auerbach, Hank Williams, Jr.)

Instrumental. Very nice sound.  Great road-trip music. I'm going to add their album to my traveling playlist.

They are also playing the ACL Bloody Mary Morning party and Waterloo Records Friday at 1pm.
