Hype alert. This band out of Dublin is getting all the big gigs and lots of buzz. They're doing the KUTX morning show and the Paste Party. They are also playing on Friday at 5:15pm at Flamingo Cantina for the Irish Breakfast party.
Post-punk. In this review of their album Stereogum mentions PJ Harvey, Pixies, Savages, and the Strokes. They say:
the music breaks out into runaway-train mode: drums incessantly bashing, bass urgently rumbling, guitars ripping away at power chords so rapid-fire they seem like they might actually burst into flames. A lesser singer might sound like they’re barely hanging on when the songs rush forward so frantically, but Karla Chubb commandingly rides the wave, harnessing all that intensity in unrestrained howls and shout-along refrains.
Her voice reminds me of Courtney Barnett.
"Heavy" is face-melting. Mosh pit ready.
I like it but not your cup of tea. A band Rick McNulty would love.
