The winner of the 2022 NPR Tiny Desk Contest, Alisa Amador’s music is a synthesis of the many styles she’s voraciously absorbed: rock, jazz, funk and alternative folk, all wrapped in the spirit of the Latin music she grew up with. NPR's Cyrena Touros calls her “a pitch-perfect rendition of my wildest dreams,” and NPR's Bob Boilen calls Alisa "a powerful voice whose tender performance commands attention and fosters connection." Alisa has opened for such artists as Brandi Carlile, Lake Street Dive, Madison Cunningham, Watchhouse, Hiss Golden Messenger, and countless others. Amador is the daughter of Latin folk musicians, Rosi and Brian Amador of the band, Sol y Canto. At age five, she began performing as the band's backup singer on tour. She studied abroad in Argentina. In 2018, she graduated from Bates College with a Bachelor of Arts degree
